Subventure — Knight of Aiguelombre
Aiguelombre (“Shadowater“) is the biggest city in the Canals, the deep, forgotten sewers system of Subventure’s setting. This port is the spiritual capital of the Revenant, the entity of cycle, change, life and death.
Knights of Aiguelombre are her paladins, her parangons, some fanatical cultists sporting diving-suit armors, rare weapons and unworldly powers. Technically, a player character can become one… but to face one is an equally big ordeal.
Subventure is an upcoming RPG I have been working on for quite some times, refining it at my own lonely pace. Follow me for more on this urban fantasy universe!

A new batch of player’s characters in Subventure, my urban fantasy rpg.
Hal Kâlin is a Vodian, an amphibian humanoid from the sewers, and a smuggler with his friend Ped. Hal is also an obedient of the Kleptocrat, the Entity of Materialism, making him the negotiator of the group. But he is also the tank, as a vodian descending from the Polgoïd tribe, he can briefly regress to a more savage body, supernaturally buffing his muscles and skin.
Ped Ru-K’dik is a Vestigian, a race of protohumans from the underground, with random mutations, his being a third arm and a face you won’t forget. Friend and smuggling partner of Hal, he is the brain of the group and the supportive fire, being a sharpshooter. Ped also has access to weird and mysterious powers over dreams and minds which doesn’t seem to come from any cult…
The Old Clock is a mystery. Their race, age and gender are unknown. They are an original and somewhat crazy crypto-anthropologist, wearing a strange clock-helmet, stuck into a mechanical chair and gifted with telekinesis. A bizarre, flamboyant character of absurd background…

THE NEW TEAMMATES FOR SUBVENTURE: CAMPAIGN 2
A wonderful RPG I have been creating.
I am so proud to present this new player characters for the new large-scale campaign of Subventure, named “the Face of the Frogs”. After the disappearance of a subway full of people, a bunch of subventurers is tasked to retrieve a mysterious object which disappeared with it…
From left to right:
- Abraham is the sole returning character from the first campaign. A young and naive beginner at occult investigations, he uses the telepathic powers of his late girlfriend via a phone, whose brain is in its backpack (this character…). He has recently discovered that he is also a psychic, one that can summon and manipulate ectoplasm, thus reuniting him with melinda… Also, he has a giant “otter-dragon” from the deep sewers as a semi-wild pet.
- Zélie la Volte is a beggar and an assassin. Devoted to the Glow, the Entity of Hope and Promesses, she tracks and kills those who threaten the feeble lie that is hope. She uses illusion and low healing via her fireflies, and is very talented at throwing knives and carving people’s faces.
- Samuel, who nicknamed himself Baron Samedi after the myth from the Surface, is a Troglodyte doctor, wandering the sewers to deliver its services to the ones that cannot pay for a hospital, coming to the surface at night to heal the beggars and the losts. Beside being a cultist of the Revenant, the Entity of Renewal and Cycles, making him the primary healer, he has a sword in its cane and its tentacles can manipulate his medicine tools to fight.
- Naah Maah is a Vodian, an amphibian humanoid from the Depths of the sewers, plagued with a strong desire to be recognized as a strong member of the Troglodyte’s civilization. She is an archeologist and holds the Museum of Vodian’s History, and also a cultist of the Kleptocrat, the Entity of Materialism and Vanity. While physically weak, she has strong occult powers for manipulation and destruction, and a Vespal, a monstrous summoned wasp.
- Badiane Longwander is another Troglodyte, and a hitwoman working for the Mother of Oblivion, the Entity of Nothingness and Emptiness, and guardian of the Secret. She protects the statu quo between occult and innocents by tracking those who abuse of their powers on the unknowing people. She is a ridiculously gifted sniper, with abilities to track those she remembers, negate gravity to walk on walls, or make her presence harder to be mentally perceived.

Subventure — Player Character: Naah Maah
This is the new character of one of my friends and a player of Subventure’s beta game. Naah Maah is a Vodian. This race of humanoid amphibians are descendants from the Russalkas, monsters from the Underground Swamps, a toxic region from the Deeper Sewers.
As the curator of the Russalkan Museum, Naah Maah is obsessed by their ancestry, the clay sculpture, the stone tablets and its strange writing, the tales of horrors and the different clans. But she is also a perfect citizen of the Troglodyte society, adopting their customs and wishing to access high social recognition. She went as far as having surgery on her webbed feet, in order to wear shoes and look more “human”, losing her advantage in water.
On the other hand, her obsession for glory, power and objects has made her a powerful cultist of the Kleptocrat, the Entity of Materialism. Her body is old, but one should be careful not to underestimate her…

Subventure — Vestigian chieftain (Fey D'way B'lovar D'Gar-Lan Po)
Vestigians are a race of proto-humans living in the Vestiges, an underground network of ruins and sunken streets of mysterious origin. They benefit from random and unpredictable mutations, generally manifesting at birth or in their first years.

Fairy-powered hammer.
I’m really doing whatever the fuck I want for Inktober, and haters gonna hate, but at least I’m doing it.

Quick one for Inktober. Just a random doodle. I’ve missed 2 days. I gotta catch up. The sketches are done though.

Subventure — the Russalka’s tribes (recap)
Russalkas, the “Sewer’s Mermaids”, are a matriarcal race of proto-human amphibians from the underground. They have four tribe, each for one of the Frog-Mothers. From left to right [click on the names for a more detailed description]:
- the poisonous Green-Teeth, sneaky and vicious.
- the savage Polgoïdes, strong and powerful.
- the agile Nymuans, with their aquatic pets.
- the mysterious Bâabyâags and their psychic powers.
Subventure is an upcoming tabletop rpg, based in an urban contemporary fantasy.
